Oakland NAACP, LaRouche PAC’s Mindy Pechenuk, and Alameda Republicans Fight Soros-Sponsored DA
A note to readers: this is an old post on the archive website for Promethean PAC. It was written when we were known as LaRouche PAC, before changing our name to Promethean PAC in April 2024. You can find the latest daily news and updates on www.PrometheanAction.com. Additionally, Promethean PAC has a new website at www.PrometheanPAC.com.
When Alameda County DA Pamela Price took office in January, after being elected with help from George Soros, she fired many staff, and changed charging and sentencing policies to favor crime suspects. Price views criminals as victims; the criminal justice system as a remedial way to “give them a chance.” Many prosecutors quit, saying they could no longer discharge their duty to crime victims, and crime skyrocketed. This year through July 30, crime increased 26% in Oakland City, according to Oakland Police Department (OPD) statistics. Motor vehicle theft increased 52%, and knife robberies 44%. Many see this as a reign of terror, with Oakland resident afraid to get their mail or to put groceries in their cars.
Carl Chan, president of the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce and others launched an organization called SAFE, “Save Oakland for Everyone,” to recall Price. San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin, another Soros acolyte, was recalled by 55% of voters for similar reasons in 2022. (Republican voter registration is not high in San Francisco, Boudin was removed as the result of citizen outrage which crossed all party lines.)_
On May 17, Mindy Pechenuk, LaRouche PAC California leader and Republican candidate for California State Assembly District 18, proposed the following motion to the Alameda County Republican Party Central Committee, which passed it:
Whereas:
- Violent crime and drug use are major problems in most parts of Alameda County, and
- Newly elected Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price has explicitly stated her intention to “disrupt the system” by relaxing law enforcement and sentencing of convicted criminals, and
- District Attorney Price has either fired, put on leave, or transferred as many as twenty-five prosecutors, including many of the top-rank prosecutors capable of handling complex cases, as well as firing two top investigators, this in a department that was already understaffed, and
- District Attorney Price has created an unhealthy environment in the D.A.'s office, with seasoned attorneys worried about what they say or do in the courtroom or in the office that may end their career, and
- While it is granted that the epidemic of crime and drug use is a multi-faceted problem that will not be solved merely by longer prison sentences, nevertheless, enforcement of the laws and jail time is an indispensable part of the solution, and
- District Attorney Price received significant advertisement donations from California Justice and Public Safety PAC, a funding front for George Soros, a billionaire who is trying to reshape American society through his promotion of drug legalization and soft-on-crime District Attorneys across the country.
Therefore:
The Alameda County Republican Party Central Committee endorses the growing movement to recall Pamela Price as Alameda County District Attorney.
On July 27, the Oakland NAACP under Cynthia Adams joined with Bishop Bob Jackson, the pastor of the city’s biggest church, in an extraordinary call to mobilize resources by declaring a state of emergency to “End Oakland’s Public Safety Crisis.” They wrote that “Oakland residents are sick and tired of our intolerable public safety crisis that overwhelmingly impacts minority communities. Murders, shootings, violent armed robberies, home invasions, car break-ins, sideshows, and highway shootouts have become a pervasive fixture of life in Oakland. We call on all elected leaders to unite and declare a state of emergency and bring together massive resources to address our public safety crisis…..
“Women are targeted by young mobs and viciously beaten and robbed in downtown and uptown neighborhoods. Asians are assaulted in Chinatown. Street vendors are robbed in Fruitvale. News crews have their cameras stolen while they report on crime. PG&E workers are robbed and now require private security when they are out working. Everyone is in danger.”
They did not demand Price’s recall, but they did hold her responsible in part, writing: “Failed leadership, including the movement to defund the police, our District Attorney’s unwillingness to charge and prosecute people who murder and commit life threatening serious crimes, and the proliferation of anti-police rhetoric have created a heyday for Oakland criminals. If there are no consequences for committing crime in Oakland, crime will continue to soar.”
“People are moving out of Oakland in droves. They are afraid to venture out of their homes to go to work, shop, or dine in Oakland and this is destroying economic activity. Businesses, small and large, struggle and close, tax revenues vanish, and we are creating the notorious doom-loop where life in our city continues to spiral downward. As economic pain increases, the conditions that help create crime and criminals are exacerbated by desperate people with no employment opportunities.”
“We are in crisis and elected leaders must declare a state of emergency and bring resources together from the city, the county, and the state to end the crisis. We are 500 police officers short of the number that experts say Oakland needs. Our 911 system does not work. Residents now know that help will not come when danger confronts them. Worse, criminals know that too.”
These Black leaders fully understand the need for productive industrial jobs at family-supporting wages which President Trump has emphasized in his “Agenda47” economic platform which LaRouche PAC promotes.
They write: “Our youth must be given alternatives to the crippling desperation that leads to crime, drugs, and prison. They need quality education, mentorship, and, most importantly, real economic opportunities. Oakland should focus on creating skilled industrial and logistics jobs that pay family sustaining wages, and vocational training so Oakland residents can perform those jobs. With this focus we can produce hundreds, if not thousands, of the types of jobs desperately needed to stem economic despair, Unfortunately, progressive policies and failed leadership have chased away or delayed significant blue collar job development in the city, the Port of Oakland, and the former Army Base. That must change!” [emphasis added]
They punctured the fuzzy-headed ideas about “total compassion” with which Soros shames critics into silence: “There is nothing compassionate or progressive about allowing criminal behavior to fester and rob Oakland residents of their basic rights to public safety. It is not racist or unkind to want to be safe from crime. No one should live in fear in our city….”
They conclude: “We encourage the entire Oakland community to join a broad-based, united coalition around these three issues: 1) we have an emergency, 2) we must end the proliferation of crime in our streets and, 3) we must provide jobs, training, and mentorship so our youth have alternatives to crime.
“Do it for the love of all Oakland residents. Each and every one of us has the right to live peacefully and safely.”
Mindy Pechenuk issued a statement on July 30 in full support of the Oakland NAACP and Bishop Jackson, and called on all other elected officials and candidates of all parties to endorse it as well, and for all citizens of Alameda County to rally to this urgent campaign. (Yet on August 2, the Democratic Central Committee of Alameda County voted 83% against recalling Price.)
George Soros never expected this, and is it only getting started. It is the response of Americans who are organizing themselves to take back their country. Only Donald Trump has promised to investigate Soros prosecutors like Price as part of his “Agenda 47.”
