In a short but—contrary to myth—happy life, Edgar Allan Poe managed to get in punch after well-aimed punch at the British Empire, at British pretensions to science, and at Harvard University—of which Lyndon LaRouche once said, “Before Hitler, there was Harvard.” And many other fat targets on the way.

As Lyndon LaRouche did later, Poe penetrated into the inner connections uniting science and philosophy on the one hand, with the opposition between the republican tradition of the US Constitution and President Trump, versus the scourge of empire.
